Technical Clerk – Inspection Department. £24,000 – £30,000* (based permanently at our HO, N. Killingholme)

*Salary is dependent upon skills and qualifications

It’s a really exciting time of sustained growth at TesTex NDT Limited.

Having filled a number of key positions, over the last two months – six to be precise, we are looking to recruit another really important member of staff to help get us to where we want to be.

The role of a Technical Clerk/Administrator is an important role to help give critical support to the inspection team, ensuring project administration duties are completed efficiently.

You’ll be tasked with:

Supporting the Inspection team in compiling reports for checking and authorisation

  • Acting as a key point of contact for the inspection team and the customer
  • The contact for sending documentation across to end client user
  • Assisting with the scheduling of work for key account clients
  • Printing and preparing packs and copies of on-site drawings
  • Editing other key documents
  • Updating schedules
  • The upload of documents to our propriety software (TAIMS)
  • Maintaining document tracking systems

  • The ideal candidate for the Technical Clerk role will have experience gained from a similar role in inspection/NDT, or an engineering role.
  • Will be analytical and accurate
  • Will have good IT skills, using MS applications and the use of a CAD package would be useful

We are looking for a Multi-Disciplined NDT Technician, qualified to PCN level 2 in areas such as Ultrasonics, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection and Eddy Current Inspection.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Carrying out NDT in accordance with the WSE, SoW and in line with the relevant procedure and standard

  • The ability to interpret the results of NDT testing and make recommendations
  • The capable of working autonomously and also work well as part of a diverse team
  • Complete comprehensive inspection reports to a good standard, detailing the test results and any limitations
  • Liaising with the site contact during the inspections
  • Calibrate basic test equipment
  • Carry out all works in a safe manner

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who holds a valid EEMUA 159 Tank Assessor ticket with experience in full Out of Service tank inspections. The ideal candidate will also hold PCN tickets in various NDT methods such as MPI, UT and DPI. All levels of experience will be considered however the ideal applicant will be signed off to level 2 as a minimum. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to work and a can-do attitude.
