Wishing Collin Burres A Well Deserved and Happy Retirement
Yesterday evening saw us bid a very fond farewell to our own Collin Burres. After nearly 20 years spent at TesTex NDT, most of which spent as our General Manager, Collin has left us to start the next important chapter of his life in the form of a well-earned retirement with his wife Dianne.
In true style, Collin was sent off with cake, candles, gifts, our best wishes and a bottle of Scotch under his arm.
While he’s enjoying his retirement, we look forward to the occasional visits from Collin in the near future. In the meantime, for all the customers and colleagues who know and hold Collin in high regard, here’s a glimpse of ‘This is your Life, Collin Burres.’
Collin’s working life began in 1973, at the tender age of 15, working weekends for a small family business in Grimsby (Greenwards Engineering Ltd). He was offered a four-year apprenticeship and immediately made plans to leave school in 1974. Without any exam results, he left school and the apprenticeship was the beginning of what turned out to be an enjoyable and varied career in mechanical maintenance, finally entering into the mystic world of NDT and bulk storage tanks some 18 years ago.
Collin became the ‘go-to’ person for all things relating to Storage Tanks and will remain massively well respected within the Tank Storage Industry for his application of that knowledge.
On a final, note, in Collin’s own words:
“I would also like to thank all of our clients that I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. Hopefully, we’ve given you the service and support you expect, and long may it continue! Cheers everyone, you’ll find me down the allotment.”
From all at TesTex NDT, we wish Collin a long, healthy and happy retirement.
